| Walking routes - Tours using the transport provided |
| 1. Le Caylar. An enchanting, five hour walk down the mountain which allows
you to fully appreciate the diverse nature of the landscape. Optional
additional walk to La Couvertoirade for the super fit. |
| 2. La Roque. Stunning views of the Breze valley and the ’Cirque du Bout du
Monde’ throughout this spectacular descent. Lower down takes you on the
’Camin Farrat,’ an ancient walkway with fascinating remains of steps and
defensive walls - one of the oldest route ways on the Larzac. |
| 3. Soubès. Two established walks - the ‘Sentier Botanique’ for lovers of
flaura and fauna, and ‘Les Capitelles’ - a trail amongst these intriguing
structures whose true purpose remains a mystery to this day. Both walks also
have superb views and allow lunch to be taken at the Soubès Restogrill, a
delight in itself! |
| 4. Fozières. Beginning at Soubès this walk takes you on the scenic route
back to Ballade des Pins and also allows lunch to be enjoyed at the
Restogrill! Excellent views of Lodève and the countryside throughout. |
| 5. St Privat. Some of the walk follows the cycle track, allowing the same
opportunities to visit the Priory and Dolmens before veering off into rich
forestland and fields of wild flowers. |
| 6. St Jean de-la-Blaquière. A lovely walk which follows a completely
different route to the cycle trail that also begins here. Takes you up past
Usclas-du-Bosc through a quiet and little know region before descending
back, past the Priory with an optional extension to Soumont on your return. |
| 7. Lac Salagou. Various walking routes home, from the speedy to the
leisurely, all with their own charms and points of interest. |
