Bed and Breakfast in the Languedoc-Roussillon

Walking

Due to limited space, the cycling (walking) tours involving the transport provided are generally only available to guests staying at Ballade des Pins, however, it may be possible to make separate arrangements for guests staying at the gite - La Melodie. Please contact us should you fall into this category.
We have researched and devised a series of trails that enable you to make the most of the spectacular countryside, lakes, villages and historic sites nearby.
Four times a week, on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays you will have the chance to reserve a place in the transport provided which leaves Ballade des Pins at 9.30 am on those days. We have a route that takes you to specific starting points, all within a fifteen mile radius of the B&B.
So far we have researched seven walks starting from five points on the circular route that the transport provided follows. The beauty is that all the hard work is done for you! All the directions on these tours are downhill or on the flat.
Additionally there are four walks that begin and end at the B&B, so you wouldn’t need the transport provided for these and could leave at your own time. Some of these tours are more demanding, with uphill sections but this is all clearly outlined in the route maps and information sheets provided. Several take you around nearby Lake Salagou so a day’s swimming could form part of your activities.
Many of the routes pass additional sites of interest such as the Labeil Caves or the Priory de Grandmont and you would have plenty of time to visit these on your journey home. Wherever possible the trails take you past a café or restaurant but we can also provide packed lunches if required.
Routes are fully explained and important facts such as total distance, time required, suitability and whether there are any difficult sections, all listed. We have also taken photos of any turns etc that you may possibly miss.
