Get the Eurostar from London to Paris. Change from Gare du Nord to Gare de Lyon (about 10 euros taxi fare or get the metro) From Gare de Lyon get the TGV to Montpellier (three and a half hours).

Or spend the night in Paris! Hotel Terminus outside Gare de Lyon station is highly recommended then travel down the next day.

In Summer, on Saturdays, Eurostar runs a train direct from London to Avignon. Avignon is about two hours’ drive from Lodève and would be another great place to spend a night en route.
