| La Melodie is a delightful 18th Century Merchant’s
House set in the heart of the beautiful, medieval village of Soubès, in
the foothills of the Cevennes. |
| La Melodie is a self catering 'gite' with twin, double
and loft room with futon. It has a large lounge, kitchen/diner and
private roof terrace. It comfortably sleeps 2-6. |
| Both the local shop (fresh baguettes and croissants
daily) and village restaurant (Menu du Jour from around 12 Euros a head)
are less than two minutes’ walk from the house.

| The main part of La Melodie is nearly three hundred
years old and everything has been lovingly restored within the last two
years: exposed beams, quaint original features and ruby red terracotta
floor tiles sit comfortably with carefully chosen appliances and pine
furniture, to create a pleasing blend of modern convenience and rustic
charm. |
| The kitchen, dining area and lounge are on the first
floor. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas cooker, fridge, microwave,
Hoover etc. Porte-Fenêtres in the dining area open to a small balcony
which overlooks the street. |
| To enter the lounge is to go on a trip back in time
with its exposed beams and charming original features. In the long
summer this is a pleasantly cool room, ideal for relaxation. |
| There are two bedrooms on the second floor. The front
bedroom overlooks the street and has two single beds, a chest of drawers
and a built in cupboard. Access to the bathroom is gained from this
bedroom. |
| The inside bedroom has a double pine bed, chest of
drawers and walk in hanging-space. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and
bath with curtains and shower attachment. |
| Another large room, which could be a further double
bedroom, is on the third floor. It has a cane suite and futon. Glass
doors give access to the private, sun-drenched roof terrace outside.
Garden furniture, BBQ facilities and linen for the bedrooms is all
provided. |
| There is ample parking in the four village
car parks and the friendly town of Lodève, with its array of
restaurants, cafes and shops, is just three miles away. |
| Rental of ’La Melodie’ |
| 1. We provide sets of fresh linen for all
beds being used, along with throws and blankets. Towels are not
provided. |
| 2. Gas/Electricity/Water charges are all
inclusive though low season rentals may require additional heating, and
costs for this will be worked out by arrangement. The hot water is on
constantly. |
| 3. The kitchen contains
all the crockery/cutlery/pans and fridge, cooker and microwave for
catering for up to 6 people. There is also a BBQ with utensils on the
terrace, and a washing line. |
| 4. Changeover day is
Saturday and guests arriving must do so between 3 - 5pm and we will meet

of an approximate arrival time (we live 3 miles from the house). Guests
must vacate the property by 10.30am the following Saturday. We will come
to collect the keys and return your Security Deposit. |
