Tours using the transport provided |
| 1. Le Caylar. Begins at a mountain village and takes you cycling down
through ‘Lord of the Rings’ type scenery. Passes the Labeil Caves with the
possibility of a guided tour and lunch in the restaurant. Further down runs
alongside a stream with opportunities for dipping hot feet! An optional
extension takes you to La Couvertoirade a delightful hidden gem, rightly
deserving of its local reputation as a mini - Carcassonne. |
| 2. La Rouquette. Glorious cycling through endless vineyards and idyllic
hilltop villages such as Les Salces and St Privat. The route takes you past
the priory of St Michel de Grandmont and its famous Dolmens, where you could
stop for a visit and refreshments. Beautiful views over Lodève on the lower
sections. |
| 3. St Jean de- la -Blaquière. This pretty village, with its famous wines, is
the starting point for a journey that takes you into the very heart of the
Languedoc. You will pass the hamlets of Loiras and le Bosc, whose superb
Domaine du Vieux Clocher regularly features on our Menu du Jour. |
| 4. Lac Salagou. A choice of many routes, all taking you back to Ballade des
Pins after a day on the beach. You can make the journey scenic and varied
and have it as the main focus of your day, or take the straightforward route
and make the lake your main activity. Snacks and restaurant available at the
lake. |
| 5. Lac Salagou. An established circular trail of 27 kilometres taking you on
a tour around the whole lake, allowing you to fully appreciate the strange
red earth and bizarre rock formations of this region. Opportunities for
swimming throughout. The quick journey back to the B&B might be most
appropriate at the end of your day. |
